Johawaki Received Entrepreneur Awards

Kuala Lumpur 17 June 2010, Johawaki Group of Companies has been awarded the top Construction Cluster Award (Building) at the inaugural Bumiputera Entrepreneur Awards 2010 organized by Federation of Malay Economic Bodies’ (GABEM). In this event, about twenty Bumiputera entrepreneurs received awards in the various fields.

This year, Gabem honoured Tuan Haji Abdul Rahim B. Ahmad, the Executive Director of Johawaki Group of Companies with the Award in recognition of his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements and contribution towards the development in the construction industry.

The awards were presented by YAB Tan Sri Muhyidin B. Mohd Yassin, The Deputy Prime Minister.

YAB Tan Sri Muhyidin B. Mohd Yassin, The Deputy Prime Minister in his opening address talked about the present economic situation. Bumiputera entrepreneur must be prepared to face the economic challenges in the context of the New Economic Model (NEM) and the implementation of the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) where the government is adopting the affirmative policy using a new approach which is market-friendly and based on necessity, merit and transparency.

"Many are sceptical and uncomfortable especially when the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development was abolished, but I am convinced that our cause will remain strong with the present political leadership and government.”

"This is apparent when the cause of the Malays (Bumiputera) continues to be maintained with the 30 percent Bumiputera participation in the economy being retained as stated in the 10MP," he said.

Johawaki is pleased with this award and hope to achieve more in the future.
