  • DATO’ IR. HAMZAH BIN HASAN

    Chairman


    Datuk Ir. Hamzah bin Hasan, a Malaysian, was appointed as a Chairman to the Board of Directors of Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd since 1st August 2019.

    Datuk Ir. Hamzah served the Public Works Department for 23 years beginning from 1975 as a civil engineer. He subsequently helmed Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad as Group Managing Director from 1998 to 2002. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia from 2003 to 2010 and as Chairman from 2011 to 2014.

    His forte lies strongly in Construction Management, International Relations, Project Management, Risk Management and Corporate Management. During the tenure helming CIDB as the Chief Executive, in collaboration with industry players, he managed to achieve the Construction Industry Master Plan (CIMP 2006-2015), the Industrialised Building System (IBS) Road Map, the Construction Labour Exchange Centre Berhad (CLAB), the Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) and the Safety and Health Master Plan. For his contributions to the industry, Datuk Ir. Hamzah was awarded the Silver Award in 2014 by the Master Builders Associations Malaysia (MBAM) and a Special Recognition Award by CIDB in the Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards 2014.

    He serves as the Director of CIDB Inventures Sdn Bhd, an Independent Non-Executive Director of IJM Corporation Berhad since 16 November 2012 and Kumpulan Europlus Berhad since 2 January 2015. He also served as an Independent and Non-Executive Director of Lysaght Galvanized Steel Berhad from 20 August 2014 to 30 June 2015. Datuk Ir. Hamzah holds directorships on the board of several other organisations.

    Datuk Ir. Hamzah holds a Masters of Science (Construction Management) from Loughborough University and received his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (Hons) from Glasgow University, United Kingdom. He is a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia.

    He is the Patron for the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Malaysia and a member of Accreditation Committee of Board of Engineers Malaysia. He is also a fellow with CIOB, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyor (RICS), the Institute of Engineer Malaysia (IEM), the Institute of Value Engineering Malaysia (IVEM), the Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) and an Honorary Fellow with Project Management Institution Malaysia (PMI). He is also a member for both the Road Engineering Malaysia Association of Asia & Australasia (REAAA) and Engineering Accreditation Council (AEC).

    Dato’ Johari bin Mat, alongside Dato’ Abdul Rahim bin Ahmad, founded Johawaki Sdn Bhd in 1979, initially as a construction company. Through his many decades of hard work and constant dedication, Johawaki has managed to expand its business in various fields of business that we all know today.

    After graduating, Dato’ Johari worked with Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) in 1969. In the following year, he moved to Kuala Lumpur to take up a position as a building supervisor whilst gaining knowledge in this field through attending additional classes organised by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) and other government and private lessons.

    In 1979, Dato’ Johari made a bold decision to leave the public sector to venture into the private sector to try his hands at business. He established Hawaki Enterprise as a F-Class construction company. The company name was later changed to Johawaki Sdn Bhd. Under his leadership, the company grew and was finally recognised as an A-Class Bumiputera construction company and a reputable contractor by the Prime Minister’s Office. Today, Johawaki has over 400 staff members working diligently under Dato’ Johari to further push his legacy as the people’s company of choice.

  • DATO’ ABD RAHIM BIN AHMAD

    Group Executive Director


    Dato’ Abdul Rahim bin Ahmad, alongside Dato’ Johari bin Mat, founded Johawaki Sdn Bhd in 1979, initially as a construction company. Through his many decades of hard work and constant dedication, Johawaki has managed to expand its business in various fields of business that we all know today.

    After graduating, Dato’ Abdul Rahim worked in several construction companies to gain firsthand experience in the field. In 1976, he ventured into the field of education at the Mara Skills Institute, Sungai Petani, Kedah as a technical teacher specialising in building construction.

    Under the management of Dato’ Abdul Rahim, Johawaki Sdn Bhd has made contributions to developments in the State of Melaka where several important projects were implemented. These include the construction of the Melaka State Assembly Complex in Ayer Keroh (1999), the development of the Industrial Training Institute (ILP) (2000), the establishment of the National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) in Alor Gajah, Melaka (2002), and the construction of a residential complex in Ayer Keroh (2006).

  • DATUK FAZLUR RAHMAN BIN K.M.M EBRAHIM

    Non-Executive Director


    Datuk Fazlur Rahman bin K.M.M. Ebrahim was appointed to our board as Non-Executive Director 1 March 2016. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University, United States of America in 1980. He has 20 years of experience in banking, having served in the then Bank Bumiputra Malaysia Bhd in various capacities including managing the Kuala Lumpur main branch and heading the corporate banking division.

    He subsequently became General Manager at Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional from 1999 to 2002. In 2003, he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, a full-fledged Islamic bank licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia.

    In 2005, he left Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad to join Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad as Chief Operating Officer. In 2006, he joined Prokhas Sdn. Bhd. as Managing Director until his retirement in 2012.

  • DATO’ IR. MOHAMAD HUSIN

    Non-Executive Director


    Dato’ Ir. Mohamad Husin was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Johawaki Holdings on 2 Jan 2014.

    He is a member of Board Procurement Committee, Board Audit Committee and Board Finance & Investment Committee of MAHB. He is also the Chairman of Urusan Teknologi Wawasan Sdn Bhd and a Board member of KLIA Aeropolis Sdn Bhd.

    After graduation, he started his career as a Water Engineer in Public Works Department (JKR), Ministry of Works. He had served JKR for 35 years invarious capacities including as a District Engineer, Assistant Director, State and Branch Director, respectively. He was the Director of Roads before he was promoted to the post of Deputy Director General, which he held in 2007 until his retirement in 2013.

    During his career in the government service, he was involved in the construction of development projects, and maintenance of government facilities, mainly involving roads, buildings, ports and airports.

    He was also active in the road engineering and civil engineering fraternities and served in various capacities in organisations and societies such as Road Engineering Associations, Intelligent Transportation System and Institute of Engineers.

    Dato’ Ir Mohamad holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Civil Engineering from University of Southampton, UK and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Pittsburgh, USA.

    Currently he also sits on the Boards of MAHB and Bridgex Sdn Bhd and companies related to these groups.

  • MOHAMAD AKMAL BIN JOHARI

    Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer


    Mohamad Akmal Bin Johari began his career in 2003 with Malaysia Airlines as a Junior Account Executive before joining Prokhas Sdn Bhd as an Account Executive in 2008.

    In 2009 he was appointed as Director of Johawaki Plantation Sdn Bhd. He was also assigned as a Strategic Planning Business Development Manager for Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd in 2010 where his key responsibilities were in the areas of strategic planning formulation, corporate finance, corporate restructuring, investment evaluation, market intelligence, and research.

    He was then appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance) in 2014 where his responsibility is to ensure the company ran smoothly in terms of operational and financial. He also holds various directorships and is also the Exco Member of Johawaki’s Group.

    Mohamad Akmal Bin Johari obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance and Accounting from Regent Business School, London.

  • MOHAMED SALAHUDEEN BIN SAHUL HAMID

    Group Chief Financial Officer


    Mohamed Salahudeen Bin Sahul Hamid joined Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd in June 2018 as Senior General Manager, Finance. In 18 December 2019 he was appointed as the Group Chief Financial Officer to oversees Commercial Facilities, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax and overall Finance Divisions.

    He began his accounting career with SHELL Shared Service Centre KL (SSSCKL) from 2001 before joining SHELL Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd in 2005 as an Auditor. His tenure with SHELL continued when later in 2007 he acted as Senior Finance Business Analyst with SHELL Information Technology Information International Sdn Bhd. He left as Supply Finance Senior Advisor in 2010 with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd.

    He then was appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Pembinaan BLT Sdn Bhd a company owned by Ministry of Finance Incorporated in 2010 to oversees the accounting, human resource, administration and ICT departments.

    In 2015 he was entrusted to be the Chief Executive Officer for Oratis RX Sdn. Bhd and its susbsidiary Oratis Parmaceutical Sdn Bhd before decided for a career break in June 2016. During his career break he provided consultancy services on a part time basis in the areas of advisory for Government Service Tax (GST) Compliance, software, mapping data with tax codes, GAF file as well as setting up Point of Sales (POS).

    Mohamed Salahudeen Bin Sahul Hamid holds a Diploma in Commerce and Management from RIMA College Kuala Lumpur. He is also a Chartered Accountant since 1997 with FTMS College of Business Studies Kuala Lumpur.

  • ANIZAM BIN BAKAR

    Group Chief Operation Officer


    Anizam Bin Bakar was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd on 1st January 2018. He currently oversees Johawaki’s overall operations and its subsidiaries.

    He began his career with hospitality industry in 1994 as Human Resource Executive before joining Johawaki Construction Sdn Bhd in 1998. His knowledge and vast experience in Human Resources and Corporate Affairs has led his career progression as Assistant Manager Corporate Services in 1999 and Assistant Manager Human Resource a year later for Johawaki Construction Sdn Bhd. During his tenure, he was part of comittee to set up the ISO 9001: 2000, human resource strategy and policies for the company while administering the overall human resources and administration department.

    He then was transferred to Belati Wangsa Sdn Bhd in 2001 and entrusted to manage administration, human resource, public relations and corporate affairs matters before promoted to lead the corporate services department in 2009. His dedication and extensive experience pays off when he was promoted to become the Head of Human Capital for Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd in 2013 and five years later to be on board for top management level.

    Anizam Bin Bakar holds a Bachelor of Management Major in Human Resource from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1994.

  • NUR AZLINA BINTI JOHARI

    Chief Transformation Officer


    Nur Azlina Binti Johari holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies and Information Technology from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.

    She started her career in 2002 with Johawaki Properties Sdn Bhd as the Business Development Officer specifically in property development and management before moving on to play critical roles in the strategic planning of Johawaki Group.

    Besides being a Chief Transformation Officer, she also holds various directorships in the Johawaki Group.

  • DATO’ HISHAM BIN NORDIN

    Deputy Chief Executive Director


    Dato’ Hisham Bin Hj. Nordin was appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations) of Johawaki Sdn Bhd in 2014. He is responsible for the day-to-day management and operational aspects of the company and ensuring the performances of Johawaki’s subsidiary groups are upheld to the highest degree. His other roles in the company include being the Chairman of Johawaki Sdn Bhd and serving as the Director of Belati Wangsa Sdn Bhd.

    Dato’ Hisham has previously served as a Special Duties Officer in the Ministry of Education for 6 years starting in 2003. He subsequently moved to the Prime Minister’s Office where he worked as a Special Officer under the Ministry of Tourism & Culture.

    His honest involvement in Politics prompted him to serve in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) as the Director of NKRA (Corruption). His main responsibility was to ensure that every government initiative complies with the prevention and eradication of corruption through the implementation of the Government Transformation Program (GTP), GTP1.0 to GTP2.0. Dato’ Hisham was tasked to report on NKRA’s progress through the Delivery Task Force (DTF).

    Dato’ Hisham holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Sunderland and received his Master of Science Degree in Economic Crime Management from HELP University.
